Cavani hasn't done much for my newly carved Chelsea squad just yet :coat:

Willian looks a good buy though, Reedo. Have you managed him yet? Stick him just behind Strikers and he seems to run riot!

No I've not seen him I don't think.

Got Neymar and Muniain for that position though as well.

Nicely done on the title.

I'm Southampton now. After losing my Stoke save.

*starts again*

I've loaded about 55,000 players, got the main leagues England is playable, Ger, Fra, Ita, Hol, Arg, Bra leagues are view only and I've added top div players from all of the above, etc. It gives me a potential game speed of about 2.5-3/5 stars. I dunno how the increased numbers of players will affect the speed in practise yet as I've yet to get going, I was just wondering how many players/what database size, players you add etc. that you all use?

You can add leagues at any time during the game. My setup is:

Top two leagues in England/France/Spain - view only. Italy all divisions playable obviously.

Players from top division clubs in both South America and Europe. Large database.. total of about 60k players I think.

Usually brings game speed down to about half a star I think. Never notice though tbh.

I've never played around with that, I just have Prem, Championship and Italy and Spanish top flights!

Am I missing out on a better gaming experience?

It affects the amount of players in game, basically.

More chance of scouting out a talent then? Or just more crap players?

Well there'll be more of both. :p

Much more good players, but same goes for sh*t ones!

I played it with just the main leagues on my last game, did the recommended leagues and ended up with the 'large' database's 28,000 players, but found that with the realistic filter there was about 11-ish players that would sign for Stoke in any given position.

I guess they just made the default database smaller or the game faster. Or both. :dunno:

And seeing how Mrs C randomly picked Southampton for me this time, I really needed the extra choice!

I found that adding the others really did expand that list, it's a much better game now and as a bonus it didn't affect the game speed in any noticeable way. Those performance stars don't seem to make much difference on my PC... it was 5* before and 3* now and seems to run about the same speed. Just a slighter longer set up database bit etc when you start a new game.

And how come my scouts come home the next day when I send them to scout a nation? Last one came back 24 hours later with four whole players to choose from in Brazil.

The scouting thing is stupid and it's been p*ssing me off since release. If you send a scout to nation he's got full knowledge of, he'll come back the day after.

So you can send him somewhere else to get a full nation report, or do it regional instead.

I always figured who better to send to x country than a scout with intimate knowledge of it? So I'd send my Brazilian expert to scout Brazil etc. But there's no point doing it that way now.

Not sure why they made the change, but something had to differentiate it from last years version I suppose...

I figured the scouting thing must be a bug that'll get fixed surely.

11.

I've just lost my first league match of the current season in the 29th game.

Prior to that I was 19 points clear, 10 more points will guarentee the title with 9 to play.

Barcelona in CL quarters... going to be tough. -.-

Cheers.

This mean that I will start a Dagenham & Redbridge file tonight. Looking forward to trying out a different lower league team. Not sure what state they're in but hopefully they'll have a little bit on the finances side and wont be a team deemed expecting a relegation fight!

Started my file with Dagenham & Redbridge. Made a few free signings:

Lee Hendrie
Quinton Fortune
Jamil Adam
Cian Hughton

And on loan I've brought in:

Jon Williams - Palace
Thomas Carroll - Tottenham
Nathan Cameron - Coventry

Will make a few short term signings.

I've got QPR as a parent club.

Media prediction is 16th.

Started the season with an away win at Cheltenham.

Then in my second game it was the League Cup and I hammered Ipswich 5-2 away!!

Couldn't have hoped for a better start. In all comps I've now played 7 won 7.

Including in the league cup taking out Championship side Ipswich and Premiership side QPR 3-1. :fonz:

Started an FC United game.

Knocked out of the CL by Barcelona, 4-3 aggregate.. was really unlucky as well.

Won the league but still got 8 games to play and a cup final.. gonna have a go at this first though.
