Really hard to pick a top 5 so I'm going to pick the first 20 that come in my head, in no particular order.

Gangs of New York
Goodfellas
Donnie Brasco
Die Hard
Point Break
Terminator 2
Back To The Future
Inception
No Country For Old Men
Shawshank Redemption
Green Mile
Apocalypse Now
Platoon
Inglorious Basterds
Pulp Fiction
Taxi Driver
Scarface
Toy Storys
Aviator
Big

There are some in there that I'm sure people will think, what? But its all about personal preference, if you like something then you like something!

Edit - I forgot Snatch! Probably in my top 5! Can't even pick a top 20!

I generally dislike nearly all animated films but for some reason I really, really hate the Toy Story films!

Some quality films in there. Judging by your choice of films would I be right in guessing you're between the ages of 30-40?

Spawny you got some watching to do mate!

They're the films on the list I haven't seen.

Terminator doesn't interest me in the slightest.

Point Break is not a popular one and is more of a growing up thing for me and also inspired me to do my skydive.
Terminator 2 is absolutely amazing probably the best action film ever imo.
The other three are definitely worth a watch.

Good thread this - very difficult to pick a Top 5 as well.

I'll go for (in no particular order):

The Bourne Trilogy (can I have that as 1 choice??! :D )
Shawshank Redemption
The Matrix
Gladiator
28 Days Later

Right, Spawny's top 5, again in no particular order:

Gone in 60 seconds (dunno why, just love that film)
Gladiator (just epic)
The Matrix (interesting concept, good film. Shame the sequels were cack)
Spaceballs (brilliant Star Wars spoof, comedy gold)
The Lion King (one of my faves when I was a kid)

Have you seen Green Zone?

I watched it a few weeks ago. It's a good film made by the same director and also stars Matt Damon.

Yes, I saw it recently. Thought it was pretty good, but not a patch on the Bourne movies.

Magnificent 7
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
King of New York
True Romance
Cinema Paridiso

Ask me tomorrow and I'll have a different 5 though, the only film consitently in my top would be True Romance.
Put any 80's film on though, Top Gun, Ferris Bueller, Pretty in Pink, Brekfast club etc. etc and I'm not moving from the sofa
