Women, leave being funny to us men.

I like that Scottish guy, Kevin Bridges. Really dour and dry but not too shocking like Frankie Boyle.

I liked the bits that I've seen him in so obtained a copy of his dvd recently. It's quite good, nothing special.

I like his style of telling jokes, his one he always tells about the clothes shop is brilliant.

Sorry dude will have to disagree there. I'm on Serb's side, women are just not good comedians!

Which women comedians do you find funny then, out of interest?

Actually there was one female comedian I came across ( :snigger: ) recently that was quite funny - April Macie.

She was a guest on the Jim Jefferies podcast so is morally corrupt and has no boundaries etc. She revealed both her grandparents died from AIDS...needless to say she got a fair amount of stick for that, she took it in her stride

Think she won some kind of battle of the stand ups reality TV program in the US.

Plus...she's damn hot!

Victoria Wood makes me want to cut my eyes out and stuff faeces into my ears. Never heard Joan Rivers' comedy.

Acorn Antiques was extremely good - never failed to make me laugh out loud. Joan Rivers has been shocking audiences for decades.

I wasn't just thinking about stand-up. more a reaction to the notion that women can't be funny.

Sarah silverman, Maria Bamford(she's kinda quirky so she's a bit of an acquired taste), Whitney Cummings, Amy Schumer, Natasha Leggero

That's off the top of my head

I've watched a couple of Sarah Silverman shows..really cannot understand the hype on that woman.

Never found Victoria Wood especially funny either. Im sure there are funny women around..most do seem to be shit though. It's either literally jokes about being a woman..or you'll get foreign ones, who make jokes about being foreign women.

No love for that Tim Minchin Storm video by the way? It's great.

Just watched Stewart Lee's last episode of his Comedy Vehicle..it was brilliant again.

Finally...I watched Louis CK - Hilarious a few nights ago.

Now, I thought I would absolutely hate Louis CK..everytime ive seen him, or read anything related to him..it's just been people quoting "shocking" stuff..or him saying things like "aidsy faggott" and thinking its the funniest thing there is. So I thought he'd be sh*te, but I gave this a go anyway.

One of the funniest stand ups ive seen in god knows how long. Just some of the best material ive heard.

Sarah Silverman? I think she's awful! Haven't seen the others.

Obviously there are funny women, I just haven't found a female comedian I really like yet.

I haven't seen Sarah Silverman's stand up but her films are pretty rubbish.

I still maintain that for my taste in comedy, and what I find funny, there's pretty much no funny women.

I'm feeling the love for Mickey Flanagan and Tom Stade. Check 'em out if you get the chance.

I'm going to see Dylan Moran in July. When he's on form, he absolutely floors me.

I saw Dylan Moran a few years ago and he was wasted, kept forgetting what he was saying and there were quite a few long pauses while he remembered his next joke  . Was still good though.

From what I've seen of Micky Flanagan I really like him too, looked into seeing him live but didn't end up booking the tickets.

Just watched Patrice O'neal's most recent special "Elephant in the room", I would recommend it, it's available on Netflix instant queue if you're interested

I saw Terry Alderton last night in my local pub in a pre-edinburgh special. He was fricking funny.

Uses his range of accents well and the whole turning his back and talking to himself about his thoughts on the audience out was quality.

Right..last night on the Fringe festival show on BBC3. There was a guy called The Boy With Tape On His Face..and he was brilliant.

There may be some repition of jokes in these vids but they're great anyway. This isnt from what I saw last night..must be some of his old material.
