A scene of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas raping Harrison Ford in a recent South Park episode has sparked controversy in the US.

In the episode 'The China Problem', the actor is shown in his Indiana Jones costume being forced upon by Jewish director Spielberg and producer Lucas in a scene parodying Deliverance and The Accused. The episode aired on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur on October 9.

Anti-Defamation League spokesperson Myrna Shinbaum told the New York Daily News: "South Park has been offensive and has had very anti-Jewish pieces in the past. We understand that the show is trying to satirise, but it may get lost on those who are haters."

Comedy Central, the network that airs South Park, is owned by Viacom, the parent company of Paramount Pictures. Ford, Spielberg and Lucas worked together on the Indiana Jones series with Paramount.

Steve Albani of Comedy Central said: "We don't comment episode by episode on South Park or whether they cross the line, but South Park has a history, and people know what they are getting into when they watch it."

Makes me laugh, that all these people who don't enjoy watching/are offended by things like South Park - why are they watching them in the first place then? Didn't Ned Flanders used to do that sort of thing?

I think Matt and Trey plant these stories in the press. Equals a helluva lot of "Free Advertising".

Dont know what the controversy is here? Are they saying its because they portrayed two Jewish people as rapists? It had nothing to do with being Jewish..

Possibly a ploy of them or Comedy Central to help build up hype as this was the first episode of the 2nd half of series 12. Just a little reminder that they're back.

Off to watch it now. Hopefully it will be an improvement on series 12 which I believe is the weakest series so far (yes even worse than season 1, despite the fact season 1 is nearly always the learning period when it comes to a comedy show).

The brain damaged horse :haha: . Generally not the best episode though, started off really well but trailed off fairly quickly which was disappointing.

SUSAN Boyle really must be a celeb – as she’s become the latest star to get the South Park treatment.

In an episode aired last night in the US, the Britain’s Got Talent favourite was ‘name-checked’ – but not in the most flattering way.

The 48-year-old virgin was mentioned as Cartman went to round up a gang of South Park kids to run off and join pirates in Somalia.

Kyle's little brother Ike blames the Scot for making him want to run away - because he's so sick of hearing about her.

He leaves a letter to his parents which reads: “Dear mommy and daddy - I am running away.

Sick of Susan Boyle ... South Park

“Everyone at school is a f****** idiot and if one more person talks to me about that Susan Boyle performance of Les Miserables I was going to puke my b**** out through my mouth."

The episode ends with a group of American snipers picking off pirates on the shore in a rescue attempt - despite Cartman wanting to stay.

South Park has recently poked fun at Prime Minister Gordon Brown and singer Kanye West.

The episode airs in the UK on Comedy Central at 10pm on Friday.
