** Did a search, couldn't find anything so hope this is a new topic.

Just finished watching series one; I recorded it a while back but only just got round to seeing it.

Brilliant television!

Intelligent, convoluted, classy, gory (one scene where eyes are gouged is distinctly disturbing) and gripping. Perfectly set up for series two.

Another plus point: Gillian Anderson does a star turn as Lector's psychiatrist. She is smoking hot, incendiary.

I like it, in case you hadn't guessed. Highly recommend if you want a 13 parter that builds a strong story arc, is well acted, beautifully photographed and extremely well written. Need to concentrate though, Mads' (the actor who plays Lector) accent isn't easy to understand.

I've seen the first season - it's too slow-paced for me. And the Hannibal character, although cool, is also slightly annoying.

Not sure I can commit to another slow-paced show after Breaking Bad. :p
