Not seen a thread about it, and seen a few others named so thought I'd make one.

Is anyone else a fan? I've just finished the first part of series 5 (the 2nd part starts on 11th August this year) and I have to say, it's superb.

The first few episodes of the first series I started over a year ago, and just couldn't get into it. But over the last couple of months I stuck with it because people just kept recommending it to me, and I'm so glad I did.

The first series isn't that great, esp the first half as mentioned above. But the series afterwards just keep getting better and better, and it's well worth a watch if you don't get put off, just be patient, it'll be worth it.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903747/ the description on there doesn't do it justice really, I'm not a fan of drug related programmes but there's just a much bigger picture to it that I didn't really anticipate so it was much much better than expected.

For those that are familiar with it, who's your favourite character(s)? Mike and Saul for me, I think they're both brilliant.. remember, no spoilers. ;)

I'd go as far as saying its the best tv show I've ever seen. Quite a few people say they struggled with it at first but I was hooked from the first episode. But you're right it just gets better and better. The story, the way it's shot, the acting, it's just incredible.
There are many great characters. Gus being central to my favourite series. But my favourite character overall is Jesse....bitch!

I thought the first series was a bit slow but stuck with it due to the rave reviews.

Can't wait for the second half of the final series.

As far as the best TV show ever it has a long way to go to beat The Soprano's that show changed the rules where what is in effect a bad guy can be seen as the good guy on a TV show.

Fantastic show, first saw it when Channel 4 played the first 2 series every night over a couple of weeks so the slow start wasn't as noticeable. The end of series 4 was brilliant, as was the cliff hanger they've left us with in series 5. I have to agree Saul is brilliant, but I think Gus Fring was my favourite. It really has been a huge show but for some reason the powers that be have decided its not worth showing in the uk? I've been watching it on RTE and am counting the days to August lol

It's on some obscure channel on Sky isn't it?

I think it's one of those shows that didn't really get a lot of early hype but people liked it and it just grew and grew still suprising that someone like Sky didn't pick it up after 2 or 3 seasons.

My favourite suggestion so far for an ending is that Walt goes into witness protection and the final scene is the start of an episode of Malcolm in the Middle

I'm not sure where it stands in my favourite show list, I'm just happy to have seen some great programmes. Sopranos is one I haven't and probably won't get round to watching, doesn't appeal to me at all, but that's another thread. :p

Who's your least favourite characters then? I cannot stand his wife, oath of a woman, I just find her really boring as well as a temperamental cow. And she looks like a horse. I also don't like his son, whining little twunt, asks too many questions when he goes no one of his "But Daaad" rants.

I forgot about Gus, he's done well too but I guess I like the comedy side of the characters more. And of course Walt is a great actor.

Hope to see more of Lydia as well.

I shouldn't have watched the first part of S5 until it was a complete series, but was too hooked. :(

My favourite characters are:

1. Gustavo Fring
2. Saul Goodman
3. Jesse Pinkman

I also agree with Reedo in that Skylar is a loathsome woman.

Useless fact - the name Saul Goodman is a play on the popular phrase "It's all good, man".

His son is an idiot for trying to give himself a nickname but also making than nickname sh*t what was it Fran?

Skylar is annoying as well.

As for the best characters Saul Goodman is probably my favourite character.

Has anyone watched the first episode of this? Like I've said in other topics, I usually just wait until the full series is out and then watch the lot in one go.. BUT.. after the ending of the last series I HAD to watch this one, just to see how it turned out.

Glad I did, because it was an excellent episode, that final scene between Walt and Hank was brilliant.

What a show this has been.

Hoping to watch it when I get home tonight

Seems crazy that not a single network in England has picked this show up

For those that watched the ep:

Spoiler:
Yep, I love the way it seems like he's just going to try and talk his way out of it, and use the "break up family" card, but then just thinks "f*ck it... I'll threaten him" :D

Spoiler:
I was a big fan of Badger & Skinny talking about Star Trek I can see why it pushed Jesse off the deep end a bit

My prediction:

Spoiler:
Jesse has completely lost it, and I think that when he finds out about WW killing Mike, allowing his gf to die and poisoning the kid - he will end up killing Walt. Although that scene at the beginning with Walt was very interesting 1 year later when he's going back to the house which is a complete mess. Will certainly be very interesting to see how the plot develops.

Last night's episode -

Best show I've ever seen by far.

Spoiler:
That scene at the Mexican restaurant and the confession video were fantastic
