Fair enough I only came across it by chance when scrolling through the channels.

Spoiler:
I've watched the first 4 episodes and for me it's not really got going yet it's not as gripping as some of the other series

I'm up to halfway through series 5 and love it. For those that weren't that excited by the first episode then I plowed on a bit and got hooked.

End of series 4 blew my mind.

Can't say I'm overly bowled over by the fifth series yet, but I'm sure it'll pick up.

This series is a strange one i'm enjoying it but I just want to be at episodes 9-12 as we know that's where it's all going to climax

Yeah the way I see it developing is Vogel is actually creating these seriel killers in therapy and she will try and turn Deb into one which will inevitably end up with her going up against Dexter. It's hard to say how it will end will Dexter finally find a way of living without needing to kill?

In my opinion Dexter will finish the series dead. He's always said that he sees death as an escape plan as never get caught is part of the code

Spoiler:
This latest season is so weird. I'm disappointed tbh, as the storyline strays further and further from reality. The scene where Vogel was able to make the phonecall in that last episode was pathetic, as was the sudden change in character from Deb being borderline psychotic to all of a sudden understanding Dexter. It just seems like a very rushed season storyline wise as the writers know it all has to end this season.

PS. Also, I don't think Yates is the brain surgeon. He was far too sloppy.

I must be the only one really in to it.

You're incorrect about Yates imo there was no spoiler to suggest the brain surgeon isn't finished. The rest of this series will be about the son, Quinn and Dexter. I think with Debs killing Dexter instead of Quinn when it comes down to it.

Spoiler:
You think so? This Yates guy's method of killing was completely different to the brain surgeon's. The brain surgeon leaves his bodies out in public, whereas this guy had a weird foot fetish thing and buried his victims under rosebushes. And he also didn't have a clue who Dexter was.

We still have Hannah McKay to come back as well. But I agree in that Quinn will play a huge part in the finale.

Spoiler:
You raise a good point. However wasn't the showing of the bodys in public coming from him making it clear he was going after Vogel whereas before he was killing for his own satisfaction/need?

Why would he know who Dexter was? All the brain surgeon knew was that Vogel had an accomplice.

In the spoiler Vogel suggested teaching someone the code (the son) this is going to cause all sorts of ramifications. Dexter didn't seem to agree at all. At first no one knew Dexters secret. Now we have Vogel Deb McKay Lumen

Is a weird season, but then so was the last one - they're basically one final season split into two. The pacing is off and there's a lot of contrivances that wouldn't be easy to forgive in a novel. But it's still Dexter and I'll be sad when it's done. Just hope the actor playing Quinn doesn't waste away before the end.

I seem to be in a minority, but I think Angel's sister is a dog

Just realised the guy who plays Yates is Jammie McGuire in Shameless.

That one had been bugging me for weeks

Interesting episode last night.

Spoiler:
Finally, Hannah McKay is back! I also have a feeling that Zach may end up killing Dexter. Letting him live was a mistake, he should've learnt from the Miguel Prado messiness.

Americas Sunday Night Episode

Spoiler:
Riq. I'm round to your way of thinking. I don't think the brain surgeon is dead. I think it's Oliver. Cassies date. I don't think Zach killed Cassie either. I think it was Oliver needing another kill but not killing in his normal way as he didn't want them to know the brain surgeon is still alive. I think it will eventually be him who kills off Dexter.

Might give this series a swerve as I don't want it to be stuck in my mind that it ended badly.

It sounds terrible from people's reviews (albeit just forum posts) I've read.

i still can't help but think Vogel is some sort of puppet master in all of this pitching her creations against one another.

Cassie's boyfriend appearing at the murder scene suggests there's more to come from him as there doesn't seem to be any other reason for him to turn up

That's a very interesting observation, and I can also totally see that happening. I think the stage has been set for a pretty riveting finale.
