I like the basic shirts they wear currently, I don't notice any change to them year after year either ?

I've had a Yankees top for a few years, the away one, and I don't think it's changed since I got it and long before.. any change is unnoticeable.

Some of them shirts do look nice though, mostly because of the lack of sponsor on them (Yankees anyway !).

The shape and style of baseball shirts doesnt make them the most wearable sporting attire. While many football jerseys look very casual, and often terrible, a good jersey can be worn regularly, without looking like a prick.

Rivera retiring at the end of this season, was coming I suppose, just glad he's giving it one more year.

Do you think he'd have retired last year if he didn't get injured, James?

RJ thinks Yankees are going to finish bottom of the division this year.

I think it's possible he would have retired after last year depending on how the season finished for him. I'll be sad to see him go, you could argue he's the best pitcher in Yankees history.

And I don't think RJ is wrong either :ninja:

I wouldn't be surprised if that's how it ends up. Boston and New York are pretty bad baseball teams, on paper all three other teams in the AL east are more talented. But the game isn't played on paper, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out

Today is opening day, after the Astros made their AL debut last night beating the Rangers 8-2. Yanks/Red Sox starts at 1 local time in the Bronx, if it were the EPL itd be a "relegation 6 pointer"

Typically the one season in about 100 years where both the Sox and Yankess look poor, the Orioles are strong, and the Blu Jays are as good as the Rays.

The AL East is a very strange division this year, all 5 teams have a fairly legitimate shot at finishing .500 or better. I think the Yanks and Sox both have major holes, but I'm not sure theyre as bad as the doom and gloomers would want you to believe. I have it finishing
1 Rays
2 Orioles
3 Yanks
4 Jays
5 Sox

But I think even the red sox will be around 81-81, I think 92-95 wins will be enough to win the division this year

4 games in and everybody has lost a game. However NL West is looking strong already.

Two postponed nights in a row, I'd had to put up with SSN, a politics programme, and BBC News. :(

The yanks turned the ever popular 4-6-5-6-5-3-4 triple play last night.

Was it watching it, piece of history.

First ever in MLB history of that combo, and the first since 1968 at a Yankees home game.

It was pretty terrible base running by the O's. I think the triple play is the luckiest play in all sports, so many things have to break right for it to happen

I know I'm not exactly going out on a limb here but if Matt Moore can locate his pitches as consistently as he did last night he'll be one of the best pitchers in baseball

Hideki Matsui is going to sign a one day minor league contract so he can retire as a Yankee. I know these things are publicity stunts for the most part but I still like seeing it happen
