Highlight of tonight's show, Danny Sturridge pops up on screen.. With his full name showing... And the commentator (I think it's Florian) called him David Sturbridge. Outstanding.

Was a good night. Atmosphere was fun. Nice and relaxed. Patrice Evra didn't get the greatest of receptions!

Bit disappointing with the co main result though.. And the main being over so quick.

Yeah me and Serb were talking about that. For the second time in the day we'd been caught in a booing controversy.

The fighters of the co main event were booed. Which we saw as pointless. It was obvious the fight couldn't continue and it was such a fine margin between the start of the hitting motion and the hand landing on the floor it was obvious he didn't intend to break the rules and obvious that the cut caused meant the fight couldn't continue so it was the only course of action the ref could take.

The crowd booing that was an odd moment.

Also in the Luke barnatt fight they kept booing whenever the fighters went against the cage, even if only for a few seconds. Were some proper c**ts out in force on Sat.

I imagine you get a lot of people there for a night out who haven't a clue about the sport. They'll see highlight reels of crazy KOs and assume it's all that.

The booing in the co main (as far as the TV was picking up) seemed to be totally aimed at Guillard. Silly really but that seems to happen at any event where such accidents happen. If it was in America and a foreigner had done the illegal blow I bet the fans would've been several times worse about it. I think that played a part on Saturday, "he's a yank.... let's boo!!".

Such a shame though, was shaping up to be a good fight. Though I think Ross was going to get smashed.

Yeah I think the same, and it was heading that way before the knee. I believe they've said they'll have a rematch in March when the UFC comes back to London.

RE: The booing, yeah all the foreigners were getting a bit of booing, but was light hearted booing I think, nothing too serious. They did seem to dislike Guillard more than most for some reason, and yeah after the knee it seemed like they were kinda booing both the fighter and the ref for stopping the fight (even though it was 100% the right call).

After coming from the football it was a bit of a strange crowd environment. Obviously at football you see the same guys largely week in week out, you chant for your teams etc. but at UFC there isn't the same mentality as it's an individual sport so there's no chanting whatsoever. Plus there was a lot of empty seats, probably because they charged such ridiculously extortionate prices (ours were £110 each and they were the cheapest). Lower the price, get more fans, better atmosphere, better merchandise sales etc. and you'll make more money, whether they don't care, or overestimated demand I don't know, but it was the wrong decision imo.

Halve the price and they'll probably make more money ironically.

Someone had a Northern Ireland flag. Serb was unaware what flag it was and claimed to have never seen the Northern Ireland flag before.

£110? Jesus... That's Mental, for the card they put on as well. Bit of a p*ss take. As long as you had a good night I suppose it's worth it.. But you're right, it's completely the wrong way to go about getting the fans in.

UFC 168 tonight Rousey/Tate 2 Weidman/Silva 2 and the rest of the card is pretty strong. The Poirier/Brandao got interesting last night at weigh-ins with Brandao missing weight by a full 8lbs....Poirier was well in his face during their stare down extra venom there now.

I like Silva in devistating fashion, and I think Rousey will beat Tate again.

8lbs?! Jesus... Surprised he hasn't been sacked.

Looking forward to it. Would love to see Tate pick up the win, but I'm sure Ronda will get the arm bar.

He got it down to 6.5 with the extra hour but he'll scarifice 25% of his purse nonetheless with half going to the opponent and the other half going to the Nevada athletic commission.

And I'd be surprised if he gets another fight for a long long time

Why was Anderson playing around like that last time?

Horror show... Was bad enough seeing it happen the one time to Corey Hill. Never thought I'd see again.. And to Silva.

Idfd.. He was clowning around because he always did. Hadn't lost in 7 years. Arrogance, confidence.. Probably looked up to Ali as a hero..

The women's fight was great. Shame about the result.
