RE Borocooper: I'm not sure there's anyone in the business better at interviewing fighters than O&A, the sounds Jimmy makes when the perform move on him certainly helps

Yeah they're good. You an o&a fan generally? I hadn't heard of em til about a year ago.. Ended up listening to every Louis ck appearance and there and loving it and now I'm on about 123rd patrice oneal appearance which are mostly all unbelievably funny. I catch them every now and then but do prefer when Louis are someone like that is on. Bob Kelly is good too.

Re UFC 159. Got to say I was pretty disappointed overall... The first fight was good.. Nelson fight was fun.. Otherwise, highly predictable and not especially competitive.

Yeah I've been listening to them for years since back when they were on regular radio, I probably was listening to them for about 2 years before they got fired for the imfamous "s3x for Sam" thing

Just catching up with the fights from Saturday, Cain Velasquez is a beast, really like his style. Looking forward to him vs JDS III.

The right hand that took down bigfoot would have dropped anyone in the UFC, it was epic!

Missed it. Moved house a couple of weeks ago and the area doesn't have cable so my UFC viewing days are numbered for the time being. I'll have to rely on the updates on here

I couldn't convince her indoors that it wasn't the right house because of lack of cable. It was one of my top priorities though. :hmm:

I never watch any of the prelim fights, but after coming across this one, I might have to start:

Wow. How the hell did he stay on his feet in the third?! That is a beast of a chin he's got.

Never a dull fight with Dennis Bermudez IMO.

Just finished watching series 17 of TUF (I know, I'm late to the party!), got through it in about three days, really enjoyed it. Thought the whole field was pretty strong and could see 3 or 4 fighters having a half decent career in the UFC. Here are my thoughts:

Uriah Hall is just scary when he's on his game. I think give him a proper camp, get his head right and he'll be straight in the top 10 in the division. I'd be surprised if he's not top 5 in two to three years.

Bubba is a tool and I'm glad he got his ass handed to him. Saying that his performance in the finale was very impressive, albeit against a weak opponent, but he showed really nice groundwork. Doubt he'll ever come to much in the UFC, but he's a decent fighter.

Samman is a f**king d*ck, so glad Kelvin beat him in the semi's. Just a shame we didn't get to see him vs Uriah as that'd have been a good fight.

As for Kelvin, well I never saw that coming when the series started! For a 21 year old to get to the finale beating Samman in the semi's you think damn, he's done amazing here, but up against Uriah, seeing him train first hand every day and seeing him put two/three people in hospital on the way to the final I think nearly everyones money would have been on a Hall KO. This kid must have balls the size of watermelons to go at Hall like that. He's a better fighter than I thought he was, and seems like a nice kid too. Hope he does well in the UFC, look forward to seeing where his career takes him.

Any recommendations as to which series I should start now? I've only watched two (now three) of the 17 series - Bisping vs Miller & GSP vs Koscheck.

Reports are that every fighter from the season has a contract with the UFC

I thought I read that on here a while back. Would surprise me as despite a strong field there were some weaker ones in there that you can't really see doing anything. The big black guy that lost the wildcard fight didn't show anything in either fight to suggest he deserved a contract, the short Mike Tyson looking guy just seems pretty poor all round.

I guess some of the contracts may have just been one or two fought contracts to give them a chance to impress then they'll either retain them or let them go.

I've started watching season 13 and have to say it's incredibly boring so far. First fight was the most boring fight I've ever seen. Haven't seen a single fighter that looks even halfway decent in it yet. Just shows how strong the group in season 17 were I guess. Brock clearly thinks every guy on his team is sh*t which is quite funny, but I want him to tell them, just to make it more interesting.

Are there any better series I should watch? This season seems dire so I'm willing to dump it

Whichever season is Nog vs Mir..i tthink it's season 8. One of the best. Proper nutcase on it. First 4 seasons are all solid. Though 1 and 2 area bit odd astthey had "challenges" for the first few eps instead of fights. Season 1 is full of names you'll know though. Leben was in that, mental back then.

Season 13 is, without question, the most boring they've ever had.

Just watched the first ep of season one. I already loved Chris Leben because of his fighting  style and eccentricity but can tell I'm going to love him even more. Getting smashed on the first night in the house then p*ssing on the Canadians bed  follows that up by beating everyone on the run the next morning. He is the definition of heart.
