We managed to get ourselves a grip back in the game after that start. Root and Balance with a good partnership. Now 330/6 wow things were after an hour probably would have taken 360! Looked like we had fallen apart already.

343/7 at stumps. Finely balanced. Would be good if Broad and Ali can get us over the 400 mark tomorrow morning.

Looking good at the moment. Should start the second innings with a lead of 100

Fantastic morning so far. 122 lead after first innings that started poorly now let's have some sensible batting!

After a terrible second test we are on the verge of going 2-1 up in the series.

Anderson is out of the 4th test with injury.

Big blow losing Jimmy. He normally excels at Trent Bridge, so I would've had us as favourites going into that test to wrap up the series.

Still, got to finish the job today first.

England go 2-1 up. Well done lads!

Many people calling for Lyth's head, but I'd give him the rest of the series to make his case. Only selection question for me is who comes in for Jimmy; Wood or Woakes?. I'd also move Ali above Buttler so he's got more batting time.

Lyth is a tough one if they think he's the answer for next 2 years then stuck with him if they don't think so he'll be lucky to survive. I don't think there's anyone really hammering on the door.

Personally I don't think you change a winning team unless you have an injury if he's fit I'd probably bring Wood back in.

This England side is horrifically inconsistent every good win seems to be followed with a crushing defeat but if that record continues we win 3-2 :fonz:

Officially the most inconsistent side in test history with a 7 game record of

Win loss win loss win loss win

When Cook was asked about the inconsistency he said if the run stretches to 9 games I will be a happy man!

I think I read it's the first ever test match where extra's was highest scorer.

England regain the Ashes with an Innings and 78 run victory at Trent Bridge.

I was dreading this series after what happened last time we played the Aussies, so to win it like this is just unbelievable.

Let's carry it over to the Oval and take the Ashes 4-1.

I don't think anyone saw that sort of performance from the Aussies this lot just can't play the English conditions

Fantastic bowling from England different people stepping up at different times throughout is exactly what you want everyone played a part.
