Taylor also said "van Gerwin at his best is better than me at my best he's the best player I've ever seen"

eek, although I doubt it, it wouldn't surprise me at all. Stoke folk are scum of the earth.

MVG flies out of the traps racing into a 2-0 lead but Taylor pulls it back to 2-2.

The standard is unreal

van Gerwen should've wrapped this up, let Taylor back in that third and then seventh set.

Looks that way Taylor has flown through those last 4 sets.

I didn't watch it until getting back from the pub last night. Both players put on a great performance. Through the first 8 sets I don't think either player missed 2 darts at a double in the same throw. Their throwing at doubles was just ridiculous.

The World Cup.

Lewis is playing like he hasn't seen a dart board before.

England vs Japan goes to a doubles shoot out in the quarters.

Even at 1-1 and the doubles to play. England are 1/10 this would be a huge upset. I'm semi cheering on Japan

van Gerwin just done Taylor in the last tournament before the worlds.

There were 10 minutes of spectacular darts where he reeled off 7 legs in a row. Including a 5-0 session. Taylor went from being 6-3 up to 10-6 down.

Both players who hit the 9 darters then went on to lose.

Taylor out.

Knocked out in the second round by Michael Smith, it went to a tiebreak.

Taylor had a dodgy first round last week too, got lucky that his opponent shat himself. Smith did the same tonight but managed to keep going.

Wow. Missed this.

opens up the tournament quite a bit and makes it more exciting. Van Gerwin has to be favourite. But he'll meet Lewis in the Semis the other side of the draw is open for someone to have a nice run
