Well Nokia just kicked out a phone with a hardware FB button, so I guess it'll be aimed the billion+ social networkers worldwide... but I really can't see anyone else being that impressed tbh.

And after seeing all the distracting flashing ads and other tat all over their site, it's not going to be too much fun. Unless that's your thing, of course.

And dear me, the last thing you wanna give FaceBook is more of your data! :snigger: Surely just an attempt to capture more revenue from their users? Dunno if it'll be a serious contender in mobile OS though.

Couldn't tell you about FB's app as I've never used it. But last thing you want on a mobile device is a anything you don't need being constantly on draining your battery and slowing your device down down. Not that Facebook will care about that, they'll just want the 30% of the appstore sales plus even more of our data. It's all change as you know, they've got shareholders to satisfy now.

Personally I wouldn't be attracted to or trust their OS tbh, it'll just be another forked 'droid but with more of what you don't like about the app built it. OK if you like that sorta thing, but it's not for me.

Maybe Firefox OS is the way to go? The phone operators certainly seem to hope so, there's some big names on board.

I've just ordered the Nokia Lumia 925. It's got the Windows 8 Mobile OS.

Don't know why I ordered it. Was going on the website to order the iPhone 5 and changed my mind when I got there.

What was the story behind you losing your last one? The only thing I heard was that a fat person ate it.

Is it good? I'm due a new phone soon as not sure what to go for. Whilst unthinkable when I first got this phone I've actually got used to it and quite like it now, so going for the S4 seems to make sense as it's a decent price from what I've seen.

Pretty much a fat person ate it. I was having a fight over the arm rest on a tube with a fatty. Then pushed my elbow across and closed my eyes in a f*ck off i'm sleeping manner. Ended up falling asleep and woke up without my phone. Ergo, conclusion was fat person got hungry looked through my pockets for snacks could only find my phone and ate it.

Leading to the following facebook statuses:

Quote:
Firstly I hate fat people, secondly, if you're fat and reading this, go lose some weight. Thirdly, if you're fat and reading this and think 'No I wont go lose weight' go kill yourself, because otherwise i'm going to find your fat disobedient elbow/arm/whoknowswhatthef*ckitis hovering over my arm rest and going to make a point of resting my eyes on your layered fat self, then i'm going to fall asleep and wake up at the last stop on the tube because of you being a fat selfish c*nt.

Quote:
Well unless you're pregnant and if so then f*ck you for bringing more people in to this over populated world. Again you selfish in need of love because your boyfriend/husband no longer cares about you fat c*nt.

IMO way better than iphone5. Super fast , big screen and hell lot of customization. Its upto you to decide. If you are looking functions then its S4 but if you are brand conscious then its iphone for you all the way.

In a lot of places including where I live it seems Samsung has taken the 'cool brand' status away from iPhone. All the kids I've spoken to want a Samsung for Christmas. It's the cool new thing. These days a lot of children's parents and grandparents probably have iPhones so they're just not cool to the kids anymore. :D

An advertisement on the 3 website made me go and have a look at the Nokia which was new out.

I absolutely love the phone. Got no complaints to make about it at all. Nokia have really done a good job.

Fair enough. I have heard good things about them tbh, that they're well built with nice sturdy metal frames, a nice bright screen with decent viewing angles, a very good camera, a proper graphic equaliser (if you plug some headphones in, which is waaay better than that untweakable bass-heavy Beats Audio crap that we're seeing on mobiles now). Good software in general really, and some of the apps are very good too, especially Nokia's maps.

Glad you like it. I'd be interested to know how you get on with it after some day to day use so you'll have to let us know. Stuff like is it easy to use, has it got all the apps you like to use, or any problems you have with it, etc.

My main issue with the Nokia is the app's available. From what I've heard/seen it's very limited compared to the iPhone or Galaxy's.

Samsung Galaxy's are the same price as iPhone's, and seem to be nearly as popular nowadays.

Think I'll probably go for the S4 next month.

But what apps is it you want? I don't need a million apps for no reason. I have the sky sports app, twitter, Facebook (though its actually quite linked in to the phone already) the trainline, ESPN, Gaurdian, Skype, Whatsapp, Microsoft Office and a load of games that i play to pass time.

Anyone got an HTC One?

Torn between that and the S4 for my next phone.

I'd love an HTC one, of the reviews I have seen the One is great for it's design and that it's metal. The Samsung has a superior camera in all but low light settings, although the untrained eye might not see it. Check out the Anandtech reviews of both (lengthy but more independent than most).

Both great phones, but my mate just recently got a HTC One over the S4 and he's never looked back. Very impressive phone, IMO.

The HTC one looks awesome, only thing that would put me off is the camera - but like TNNE said it may not be that noticeable to teh untrained eye.

Cheers chaps. I'll probably go for the HTC I think, had the iPhone, tried Samsung so I'll give this a go now.

Found an 18month contract for £26p/m with a 'free' handset - I'm all over that.
