Might have slipped past a few people but he's gone on loan to Wigan.

Hopefully he can get some games under Coyle who did a great job with Wilshere & Sturridge when they came in on loan for him at Bolton.

He had some injury problems last season probably as a result of Utd raising his fitness levels from league two standard to PL standard so if he can stay fit hopefully he'll get plenty of game time and come back all the better for it.

Nick Powell scored twice as Wigan recorded their first win in European competition with victory over Slovenian champions Maribor. Powell gave the FA Cup winners the lead when he headed in after a horrible mistake by keeper Jasmin Handanovic.

Maribor pulled one back after the interval through Tavares, before Powell fired in his second in stoppage time. That brilliant individual effort from Powell came just seconds after Latics goalkeeper Scott Carson produced an outstanding acrobatic save to deny Tavares and Maribor from equalising.

Good to see the lad doing well.

This is an important season for him he had a lot of injuries last year not surprising as I imagine Utd stepped up his conditioning training to prepare him for Prem football now a good season at Wigan should help give him that in game experience so that he's ready to come back to us next season. Getting experience of Europa League football is a huge bonus as well rarely get that sort of exposure when you send these lads out on loan.

The fella has an excellent 1st touch and comfortable on the ball. More so than Zaha imo. Although they are different types of player.

Wigan was a good move for him, they kept a lot of their players from the PL so he'll have good players around him to help his development. Hopefully he gets a good season behind him, does well like Cleverly did a few years back and comes back raring to go next season.

I still think he might go out on 1 more loan depending on how the squad shapes up next summer his position looks to be off the striker which is where he played at Crewe although this is where Ramsey started and Utd may look to pull him back slightly if they think he can handle it and make him a genuine box to box player.

In Powell's position we currently have Rooney & Kagawa and in terms of the youngsters Januzaj is the one who's really grabbing the headlines at the moment but his contract situation is a concern which might explain why Moyes is giving him games to keep him happy once he signs the deal you might find he drops back into reserve matches and others are given chances. Januzaj has also shown that he's comfortable playing that roaming LM role that a lot of clubs uses where when you have the ball you can go inside and it's only when the team losses it that you need to make sure you cover the left hand side.

It's great to see him doing so well he made a huge jump from Crewe to Utd and hopefully he has a good season we all know this squad needs changing and there is a huge window of opportunity for the young players at the club to stake a claim to be part of the "Moyes Boys" as we have some very talented players. Powell, Zaha, Januzaj & Lingaard plus Michael Keane who will be putting pressure on Jones/Smalling at CB.

Came off the bench at 1-0 down to score twice in the cup replay vs MK Dons.

Takes him into double figures this season

People will obviously want him back but for me it's best he stays playing at Wigan.

Stays, plus we have too many strikers (which is where he's playing). If he comes back he won't get any games as we're only in a semifinal and the ECL now...

And a top four league place. Still do-able.

I think he played a little bit deeper last night when he came on but that was with his team chasing a game against a team from league 1.

For me it's a tricky situation his role is really either attacking midfield in a 3 or off the striker you want him arriving in the box now at home against weaker sides we could possibly get away with playing him in a 2 man centre midfield with Carrick or Fletcher holding but it would be a bit of a gamble.

The best solution long term is he sees out the season on loan at Wigan and comes back to Utd in the summer and the club can see where he is in relation to the other players in the squad in pre season then hopefully give him some time off the bench or league cup matches next season if he proves himself like Januzaj did keep him around if he's still not quite there try and get him a prem loan.

His biggest problem is a certain Scouser plays his position and Moyes is desperate to convince him to stay so he isn't going to risk upsetting him.

Wont play for Wigan tonight after pleading guilty to drink driving.

Given a 14 month ban & £5k fine.

Might act as a bit of a wake up call for him but the reality is something like that wont really effect his life that much as he'll just get someone to drive him about

Nick Powell is set to return to Manchester United training this week.

The 21-year-old's last competitive game was for Leicester against Manchester City in December and has since undergone knee surgery.

He hasn't appeared for United since the 4-0 defeat to MK Dons in the Capital One Cup last August. His last league appearance for United came in a 3-1 win over QPR nearly three years ago.

Powell, who arrived at Old Trafford from Crewe for £3m in 2012 and has one year left on his contract, has been included in Louis van Gaal's Premier League and Champions League squad for the new season despite not being handed a squad number.

He was not included in the tour party for the pre-season trip to the United States while he recovered from a knee operation but is now set to return to training this week.

The fact I had to go to page six of this board says it all. i wonder if all the squad know what page their on. Could incentivise them a tad.

Saw his name on a squad list the other day and genuinely forgot he was still at the club.

Moved to soon should've done at least 1 more season at Crewe

Yep scored a beauty vs Wigan I think played in a CL game as well but he wasn't ready

He's had a few dodgy loans and lots of rumours that the money went to his head and he isn't training properly but who knows if that's true.

Very hard to keep a level head I guess you never know until they get it if they can handle it but I hope as always he gets his head sorted and has a good career either at Utd or elsewhere.
