Andrew Johnson will be absent from Fulham's squad for their match against Chelsea after manager Roy Hodgson confirmed the ligaments around the striker's collarbone snapped in a challenge during last night's 3-1 over Amkar Perm.

Hodgson said he will give fitness tests to Erik Nevland (foot) and Dickson Etuhu (groin) on Saturday after they were hurt in the same game while Toni Kallio is ruled out with an Achilles injury.

Simon Davies is on course to return from his foot injury while Jonathan Greening could go into the squad.

Chelsea will be without several first-team players.

New signing Yuri Zhirkov is sidelined with a knee injury while Juliano Belletti (Achilles) and defender Alex (groin) are also set to miss out for Carlo Ancelotti's men.

Joe Cole (knee) and Paulo Ferreira (knee) both return to training with the first team next Tuesday.

Teams:

Fulham (from): Schwarzer, Pantsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Konchesky, Dempsey, Etuhu, Murphy, Gera, Zamora, Nevland, Kamara, Zuberbuhler, Stoor, Baird, Riise, Kelly, Davies.

Chelsea (from): Cech, Turnbull, Hilario, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Carvalho, A Cole, Ballack, Sturridge, Mikel, Deco, Lampard, Anelka, Drogba, Sturridge, Kalou, Malouda, Essien.

You look at Roy Hodgson at Fulham and again he's proving himself a good manager. He's bought Damien Duff, he's about to sign Jonathan Greening too, and, slowly but surely, he is building a good side at Craven Cottage.

However, Chelsea seem to be on a roll and the fact that they can rotate the team without taking a hit in quality is massive for them.

I know this is a local derby, but I suspect the Blues will be too strong for Fulham - throw in the fact that they are three points ahead of Manchester United already too, and that will only inspire them to further gains, I'm sure.

Verdict: 1-2

Fulham had a fantastic season last year and can Roy Hodgson do it again? He's brought in a few good players who have decent Premier League experience, Hopefully they will hold onto Hangeland as he is key to their defence.

Carlo Ancelotti has chelsea playing well and have twice come from behind this season, they are well organised and have a very good squad.

Mystic Jarv Predicts 1-2 to Chelsea

MATCH PREVIEW

Chelsea owe their existence to Fulham, who might justifiably rue the day in 1904 that they turned down an entrepreneur who offered them Stamford Bridge.

The businessman, Gus Mears, decided to form his own football club - Chelsea - and Fulham have been losing ground ever since, finishing above their neighbours only five times in more than a century.

Fulham, of course, have become synonymous with Craven Cottage and the iconic ground has hosted European football for the first time this season, a sign of the progress made under Roy Hodgson.

He is part of a sub-plot featuring two managers idolised in Italy and now lauded in London: Hodgson and Carlo Ancelotti went head-to-head three times in Serie A, with Ancelotti holding a 2-1 advantage.

This, though, is their first derby confrontation, having never managed the rival Milan clubs at the same time.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• Fulham have beaten Chelsea just once in the last 25 league and cup meetings, spanning 30 years. That solitary success was 1-0 at Craven Cottage in March 2006 (Boa Morte).

• This fixture was Roy Hodgson's first Premier League match in charge of Fulham, in January 2008.

Fulham

• Only the top four and Manchester City ended last season with a better home record than Fulham: W11, D3, L5.

• However, Fulham have lost four of their last seven home games in the league.

• New signing Damien Duff won two league titles and a League Cup with Chelsea, scoring 19 goals in 125 appearances.

Chelsea

• Chelsea had the best away record in the Premier League last season, amassing 14 wins and 44 points from 19 games.

• They have won seven successive league games and are unbeaten in ten (W9, D1). Their record sequence of league wins is ten, set in 2005/06.

• The Blues have conceded the opening goal in the last four matches, but rallied to win three of them (including the Community Shield).

• Frank Lampard needs one goal to move clear fifth as Chelsea's all-time leading goalscorer ahead of Jimmy Greaves. Both have scored 132 goals.

LEADING GOALSCORERS

Fulham

Zamora: 3 goals (1 league); A Johnson: 3 goals (0 league)

Chelsea

Drogba: 2 goals (2 league); Lampard: 2 goals (1 league)

1631: John Terry shoots over from the distance for Chelsea. The visitors enjoying most of the possession, but Fulham have probably had the best chance through Clint Dempsey.

Slick passing from Chelsea. Frank Lampard quickly moves it on to Nicolas Anelka, who plays it through for Didier Drogba. The striker stays just about onside before slotting past Mark Schwarzer.

Fulham have looked poor - that 2nd goal was a giveaway..keepr in no man's land and defender letting ball and man pass him with nary a challenge. Deserved 2-0 to Chelsea.
